Industry: Film/Television

What Made Him Haute: Long gone are the days of Marky Mark. Today, he is co-executive producer for the HBO television series “Entourage,” which is in its seventh season, and the buzzed about “Boardwalk Empire,” a TV series set in Atlantic City during Prohibition. “The Other Guys,” which launched in early August, is Walhberg’s first comedy, not counting his stint with Andy Sandberg on “Saturday Night Live” this past season.

What Makes Him Haute Now: Golden Globes nominations were announced this morning, leaving few surprised Mark Wahlberg scored for his role in “The Fighter.” Wahlberg, who has previously mentioned his affinity to the boxing world, seems to have also found inspiration in the real hero of the film: Boston-area boxer Mickey Ward. He explains: “Micky Ward was one of my heroes growing up. Doing what he did against all odds, he’s just a very special individual,” Wahlberg said. “Growing up in that neck of the woods and his family being so similar to mine and all the struggles, it’s very inspiring.”

And Wahlberg’s acting isn’t the only contribution the movie boasts. Having also produced the film, Wahlberg is entitled to a few bragging rights for its six nominations.
