Cruise into 2011 Aboard a Houseboat on Lake Mead

Gather up a group of eight to 12 friends to climb aboard the 59-foot XT or 70-foot Millennium houseboat that departs from Callville Bay Resort and Marina, a 30- to 45-minute ride from the Strip on Lake Mead. The three-day excursion from Dec. 30-Jan. 1 or Dec. 31-Jan. 2 includes fully equipped kitchens, private staterooms, spacious living areas, top-level sun decks, barbecue grills and climate control; the 70-foot Millennium houseboats also sport top-deck, grand-sized hot tubs.
On New Year’s Eve you can munch on gourmet S’mores around a campfire on your own private beach, or while nestled in a steamy hot tub under the stars on the top deck of your Millennium houseboat. Each room comes with a custom-assembled basket of artisanal cheeses, charcuterie and fine wines to toast the start of 2011 from local fine foods purveyor Valley Cheese and Wine and a gourmet S’mores kit to enjoy by your own beach campfire, featuring locally made chocolates from Southern Nevada’s own Ethel M Chocolates
Parties arrive to Callville Bay Resort and Marina ready to board their boat by noon on their departure day. Operational training and a personal orientation by skilled marina staff teaches renters how to pilot, dock and beach a houseboat, as well as the boating safety rules of the lake. Yes, you’ll be cruising the lake on your own. Keep in mind there are 550 miles of shore line around Lake Mead.
