Located in Montecito, Calif., just outside of Santa Barbara, the incredible home of the self-made billionaire called the “Promised Land” has both ocean and mountain views.
While Winfrey spends a large part of her time taping the last season of her famous talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in Chicago and preparing for the New Year’s launch of her long-awaited for cable network, OWN, the estate is her main residence and offers her some relaxation.
The media mogul bought the six bedrooms, 14 bathrooms property in 2001 for $50 million. Since purchasing the Georgian-style home, Winfrey has made some improvements, including a man-made lake with rare fish, a large home theater and a hand-laid driveway made with Montecito sandstone bricks.
Winfrey also owns an estate in the extremely exclusive community Fisher Island, along with several other properties around the country from New Jersey to Georgia to a ski house in Colorado.
