The Rink at Park Tavern Grand Opening

We here in Atlanta may not be used to the severely cold temperatures that dominate other cities this time of year, but that doesn’t stop us from indulging in fun activities to be had in the cold. In this case, I’m referring to ice skating, that lovely past time involving cute hats, gloves and scarves and the occasional bruised knees and elbows courtesy of falling all over the frigid ice. But, that’s the great thing about ice skating, regardless if you fall; you still have an amazing time. Piedmont Park just unveiled the new Rink at Park Tavern ice skating rink that is sure to bring endless amounts of holiday cheer. So suit up and head on down!

With great anticipation and fanfare comes the grand opening of the family friendly new ice skating rink in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. Along with ice skating also comes a flurry of activities that the whole family will thoroughly enjoy. On November 26 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. is Breakfast with Santa, and November 30 beginning at 4 p.m. is Frozen Hot Chocolate and Cookies with Santa. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to these lovely events because the rink will be open for the entire holiday season and there will be plenty of opportunities to visit and to partake in festive activities.

The Rink at Park Tavern is 85 feet long and 40 feet wide with heated tent, surround sound system and a rink that is created with harvested rainwater. There is also rink-side dining, hot chocolate, specialty cocktails, and nightly wine and sushi specials. The rink will be open until February 2011, check for rink times, rates and age limits.
