Haute Event: Mercy Hospital Celebrates 60 Years with Gala

In anticipation of its upcoming 60-year anniversary, Mercy Hospital threw its annual Mercy Foundation Gala on Oct. 30, inviting hundreds of guests to enjoy the music of Grammy Award-winning singer Willy Chirino and a silent auction.

The “Diamond” fundraiser was held at InterContinental Hotel in Miami, and not only celebrated the long lasting good name of the hospital, but recognized the exceptional job of the Mercy Medical staff, with services that have spanned collectively over half a century. Former leaders also received the prestigious Monsignor Bryan O. Walsh Humanitarian Award, and received recognition for their dedication to the hospital’s growth and development.

The silent auction included generously donated items like works of art, sports memorabilia, and fashions from Miami-based couture designers, which were created specifically for the Gala. Mayda Cisneros, Rene Ruiz, Victoria Lopez Castro, Gabriela Arango, and Rosina Malta (fur designer) unveiled signature gowns designed in purple and red.
