Kevin Feige

Category: Thinkers

Industry: Film

Company: Marvel Studios

What Made Him Haute: He began working on Marvel movies in 1998 as an associate producer on X-Men. From co-producer to executive producer to president of Marvel Studios, Feige is behind Spider Man 1, 2, 3, Iron Man 1 and 2, and The Incredible Hulk. Marvel movies and licensed properties have generated $7.3 billion at the box office. Up and coming Marvel comic projects include Thor, The First Avenger: Captain America, and The Avengers.

What Makes Him Haute Now: Production for First Avenger: Captain America, is going well, evidenced by the set of pictures that were released a week ago by US Weekly. As head producer, Kevin Feige should be breathing a sigh of relief, considering it took much coaxing to get the lead actor, Chris Evans, on board. But the heart throb is in, and the movie has created a lot of hype since the newly-released photos came out.

And that’s not the only thing Kevin Feige, who is also president of Marvel Studios, is happy about: according to MovieScope Magazine the company is at the forefront of the boom in superhero action movies, its spot on this year’s Comic-Con reportedly being the pinnacle of the show. This is mostly due to the “mammoth” collection of back-catalog comics, which is a huge resource to gather material for potential films. Additionally, the comics have drawn out a whole universe in which different characters show up in each other’s films, thereby creating a massive audience. From the looks of it, Kevin Feige is going to be a busy (and considerably successful) man for the next couple of years.
