Bohnams Dubai Sale of Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern and South Asian Art

Bohnams Dubai gets ready for its sixth auction on October 11th at the One & Only Royal Mirage. The sale will include classic collectors’ cars as well as vintage and limited edition watches and Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern, Iranian and South East Asian Art.

The auction marks the first occasion in which classic collectors’ cars are offered in the Middle East.  The first of the lots is a white BMW 3.0 CSL with motorsport stripes and concours factory restoration.  The car became known as the “Batmobile” for its aerodynamic spoilers for racing. It is estimated to fetch from $ 160,000-220,000. There is also consigned a 1979 white BMW M1 estimated to go for $160,000-220,000.

Among the contemporary and modern art highlights is a painting by leading Egyptian artist, Ahmed Moustafa, ”Man in a rocking chair”, which is estimated to sell for $180,000 -$240,000 and a painting by the famous M.F. Husain, “ The Falcon & the horse estimated to sell for & $250,000- 350,000. Another masterpiece entitled Mother & Child by renowned Iraqi artist Jewad Selim,  is constructed in fruitwood and mixed media is estimated to sell for $60,000-80,000.

Certainly a sale to attend for such a variety of rare and unique artworks and collectibles.
