Let Us Eat Cake Made by Julia Baker Confections!

Since we’ve been on the subject of good eats and fabulous treats lately, we wouldn’t dare pass up the opportunity to sing the praises of Julia Baker Confections, one of the Valley’s chicest cake design shops, headed by Julia Baker, culinary artist extraordinaire. If you have a sweet tooth, read on.

Julia Baker graduated first in her class from Paris’ acclaimed Le Cordon Bleu academy and has studied with world-famous chefs, including Sue MacMahon, famed sugar-paste flower artist and chef of The Queen Mum’s 100th birthday cake. Baker could have set up her successful shop anywhere in the country, but fortunately for Valley residents, she’s ours.

Baking in Scottsdale since 2004, Baker established her eponymous confectionery in 2006, where she now focuses exclusively on creating luxury chocolates and elegant custom cakes. Not only is there a long list of happy brides and grooms who have shared one of her cakes on their wedding days, but Baker has also created gourmet sweets for such celebrities as Alicia Keys, Jennifer Aniston, Bono and U2, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. And to think that Baker originally wanted to become a statistician!

Clearly, Baker is doing her part to set the bar pretty high for quality cakes, and in fact, she’s so in demand that her custom creations have been reserved as far in advance as two years. (Two years!) The ability to make a cake that tastes as incredible as it looks is a hot commodity, and we wouldn’t be surprised if many a couple has scheduled their wedding date according to when Baker will be available to do their cake.

To maintain her strict standards for the most delicious, most exquisite cakes and chocolates possible, Baker doesn’t use any preservatives or artificial ingredients in her creations, and all are made according to recipes she develops herself, executed by her and members of her talented team.

In addition to wedding cakes and sweets, Julia Baker Confections can also offer goodies for corporate events and gifts, and let’s not forget Baker’s line of luxury chocolates, which are available for purchase from her online site as well as in select boutiques. These signature delights include truffles and hand-cut chocolates in such flavors as dark ganache, passion fruit, raspberry, French caramel and Irish creme, each one handmade and delivered in ultra-chic packaging.

By the way, in the main photo above, the top right image — yes, the one with the shoe … That’s not a shoebox, it’s a Julia Baker Shoe Box Cake! We’re telling you — this gal is good.
