Hermès Celebrates Its Heritage with an Expansion Dedicated to Leather

Hermés, the creator of the world’s most coveted handbag, the Birkin bag, will create more fashion frenzy with the opening of the newly refurbished floor dedicated to leather at the Hermés flagship store on Sept. 14. The 2,000 square-foot floor will present the comprehensive and iconic leather collection from the world of Hermés.

Rena Dumas’ Parisian architectural agency RDAI designed the new floor that will exhibit the collection of leather products that founded the highly regarded fashion house nearly two centuries ago. The legendary 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré Hermés store has been modified with a contemporary spin and set in a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere.

Some of the most exiting features of the store include:

A VIP studio in leather paneling for special and custom orders.

Cherry wood shelving and limestone tiled flooring.

Sliding glass wall cases from floor to ceiling around the spiral staircase.

A leather workshop station with Parisian trained craftsmen available for refurbishment and restorations.

The opening of the leather floor also represents another exciting event: the United States launch of the limited edition So-Black handbag collection and the mini Constance bags in satin.

Each stunningly beautiful, these goods are sure to be on any reader’s wish list!

The Hermés flagship store is located at 691 Madison Ave.
