Blues Clues: Cameron Silver to Launch Decades Denim

Cameron Silver is turning blue. Silver, the owner of Los Angeles style emporium Decades—known for its impeccable selection of vintage couture from Jean Dessès to Jean Muir—has announced the launch of a denim line for women. Named for Silver’s boutique, Decades Denim is set to debut just in time for the holidays, a boon for both laywomen and Silver’s celebrity clientele, including Annette Benning, Chloë Sevigny and Jada Pinkett-Smith, who depend on Silver for dazzling dresses with wow power to wear on the red carpet.

The line, which consists of 16 styles, takes its cues from Silver’s favorite pieces of yesteryear—though the line is anything but dated. Instead Silver has infused each design with his singular sartorial bend, creating a collection that is modern and contemporary. Rather than depend on flashy hardware and embellishments, Silver’s denim sports clean unencumbered cuts and a sleek style that can carry a gal from day from evening.

Each jean is named for one of Silver’s favorite femmes. The “Nadja,” after glamazon blonde Nadja Auerman, is crafted in a stretch velvet while the “Martha” boasts a denim legging with stocking seam inspired curved seams up the back. Of course, a slim cigarette denim cropped pant is named after iconic 60s diva, Marilyn Monroe. Tux pant and cargo jeans are also in the works. Lucky for the ladies, the luxe line is priced at reasonable $99-$119 range.

Jazzy gents who want to get in on Silver’s style shouldn’t fret. Word on the street is that a men’s line will follow this spring.
