Benjamin Franklin once said, “Time is money.” This old adage certainly rings true for New York, the city that never sleeps. In fact, it was recently reported that The Empire State (pent)houses the most millionaires in the country. Last year set a new bar for this statistic, as the percentage of millionaires located in the New York metropolitan area climbed a hefty 18.7 percent from 2008.
Runners-up for the Top 10 millionaire-heavy locales in the United States, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, are, in descending order: Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Detroit, Houston, and San Jose. Of them, Houston has had the biggest surge from 2008 to 2009, with a 28.9 percent increase.
As for future statistics of 2010, time may prove to be worth less value, all economic relations considered.
