Private Parties and a Wine Maker Dinner at Modern Steak

And if you want to check out the space in a festive environment, Modern Steak is hosting a Wine Maker Dinner this Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 6:30 p.m. in one of the private dining rooms at $65 per person. Special guest Doug Margerum, owner of Margerum Wine Company out of Santa Barbara, Calif., will be joining diners as they’re treated to an interactive four-course meal and five wine pairings.

The menu includes the 2009 Margerum (Pinot Gris) to start, then a first course of poached shrimp salad with the 2009 Margerum “Sybarite” (Sauvignon Blanc). The second course will be a citrus grilled big eye tuna with the 2007 Margerum “M5” (Rhone Blend), followed by a third course of braised beef short rib, served with the 2007 Margerum “Uber” (Syrah). The dinner will close with a cheese course, including Epoisses de Bourgogne and Cave Aged St. Pete’s Blue, paired with the 2009 Margerum “Chukker” (Cabernet Franc/Merlot/Cabernet).
