What Makes Her Haute: The successful songwriter is a staple in the New York society circuit.

What Makes Her Haute Now: Grammy-nominated songwriter Denise Rich is hosting the Angel Ball, an annual charity gala celebrating the leaps and bounds of cancer research. The gala is formally hosted by Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, a foundation Rich founded in memory of her daughter, Gabrielle, who died of leukemia at the age of 27.

Heralded as one of the most highly anticipated events of the New York social season, the gala boasts some of music’s hautest stars including Patti LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Joss Stone and Robin Thicke.

The Angel Ball takes place on Oct. 21 in New York City.
