Uniqlo Partners Up with Velvet for Upcoming Collaborations
It goes without argument that Japan has birthed many an eclectic-style Harajuku girls, Commes Des Garconnes, 12-inch heels. However, it also has Uniqlo, the Japanese equivalent of GAP, which will now be adding tie-ins with popular California brand Velvet to its choice list of select collaborations. Along with offering essential wardrobe basics, Uniqlo has been riding along successfully with its collaborations with highbrow designers such as Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim and most recently, Costello Tagliapietra.

Coincidentally, Velvet will tap into the brand’s color palette when its summer collaboration debuts in June. The line has been dubbed “Hollywood Roosevelt” and will consist of lightweight jersey and cotton tanks, dresses and pants; Three other mini-collections will roll out throughout the rest of the year.
