Dori’s World: Movie Screenings, Charity Luncheons, and Fashion Shows

What a great week it has been. On Wednesday night was the screening of MacGruber (yes, I went on the correct night this time). The movie was funny, starring Ryan Phillippe, Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, and Val Kilmer, who were all at the theater. Also in attendance were Jeff Zucker, Ari Horowitz from BlackBook, and Ron Meyers. After the movie, I went to meet Chris Mack and Liz Maidman at The Mark Hotel on Madison Avenue for a late night snack.

Then, yesterday was the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Fashion Show and Luncheon, held at Cipriani 42nd Street, where Dior sponsored the event. The first chair ever of this event was Pauline Pitt. Sloan Lindemann, who has chaired this event for the past 10 years, announced yesterday that she will step down as chair and pass the torch. Lizzie Tisch, Samantha Boardman, and Mara Landis will be next year’s co-chairs of the Lying In Executive Committee at NewYork-Presbyterian.

Dr. Samantha Boardman Rosen was in attendance, along with Lizzie Tisch, Gilane Maxwell, Nancy Lane, Lauren Santo Domingo, Shoshanna Lonstein, Coralie Charriol Paul, Jane Wagman, Abby Manning, Serena Boardman, Devon Schuster Razwill, Caryn Zucker, Karen Luter, Woody Johnson, Stefani Greenfield, Dr. Frank Chervenak, Karen Watkins, Pamela Baxter, Renaud Dutreil, Danielle Ganek, Sara Ayres, Dr. Ruth, Christina Baker, Barbara Bancroft, who was also one of the first chairs and is also Annie Churchill’s mother, Dennis Velkovich and Brooke Travis from Dior, Pamela Gross, Renee Belfer, and Wendi Murdoch.

There was an awesome fashion show by Dior at the lunch. What a great collection!

I wore pink Valentino; Lizzie Tisch, Abby Manning, and Samantha Boardman were in Dior; and Shoshanna Lonstein was dressed in her own line, Shoshanna, of course.

The night ended with dinner at The Lion, of course. Wonderful time with Barry Gesser, Brian Atwood, Christian Leone of Guilt Groupe, Dennis Basso, Megan DiCiurcio, Jason Pomeranc, Jennifer Raines, Inga and Keith Rubenstein, Matthew and Nicole Mellon, and a surprise visit from Jason and Megan’s friend, Ed Westwick, who plays Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl. All I wanted to know was if he was returning to the show next season. He told me I would have to watch next season to find out. However, he did reveal that he is planning a birthday party sometime in June, in New York. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones on his VIP list that will be invited.
