Bardessono – Yountville California, USA

Officially LEED certified and described as “green, gracious, and refined,” the Bardessono hotel and spa is truly worthy of mention. After an incredibly long construction period of eleven years, the 62-room hotel is made of earth-walls and is situated on six acres of land. There are 82 geothermal wells, 940 solar panels, a water treatment system, and underwater sprinklers. The rooms are allergen-free and feature flat screens, hand-loomed Coyuchi linens, and LEDs. There are innovative motion detectors to control each room’s electronic devices. Bardessono Orbea bicycles are available to guests who prefer a more eco-friendly form of transportation.

Blythswood Square – Glasgow, Scotland

In addition to this gorgeous hotel’s 100 rooms, Rally Bar, ballroom, salon, and rooftop-hot-tub equipped penthouse, there is a luxurious 10,000-square-foot spa which features a menu that includes a Rasul mud chamber treatment and seaweed bath with kelp from the Hebrides.  There is also a chandelier-lit vitality pool at guest’s disposal which is an ideal activity if you’re looking to avoid the Scottish rain.

La Reserve Ramatuelle – St. Tropez, France

Located just 15 minutes from the renowned resort town of St. Tropez, La Reserve Ramatuelle features 16 suites with private terraces or gardens and an addition seven rooms. With a glass-enclosed lobby-library and surrounding olive groves and vineyards, this hotel’s proximity to everything an haute traveler can imagine is why it’s one of the most memorable hotels of the year. There is also an 11,000-square-foot spa with 13 treatment rooms and indoor and outdoor pools. The spa uses Crème de la Mer skincare products and there are medical specialists that can create 6-day spa plans for guests that focus on stress, fitness, slimming, and beauty regimes.

PuLi – Shanghai, China

This extremely modern and urban hotel is set in the JingAn district. It features 209 rooms on 26 floors with 24-hour concierge service and room attendants. Rooms have rainforest showers, Nespresso machines, and bathtubs with city views. There is an on-site Anatara spa and guests are provided with cell phones that they can use anywhere in the city for when they decide to venture out into town. The hotel also has a restaurant with a modular menu that allows you to design your own meal from a list of ingredients, and a nearby 32-meter-long bar.

Crosby Street Hotel – New York, New York, USA

This 11-story boutique hotel was the talk of the town when it opened. This swank SoHo location features 86 rooms with high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, LEED certification, and Miller Harris bath products. There is an on-site Crosby Bar that seats 99 with Poltrona Frau leather chairs, a private garden, and a drawing room.

Black Rock Oceanfront Resort – Ucluelet, British Columbia, Canada

Just north of the U.S. border is a beautiful Canadian hotel perched on the side of a cliff with 71 lodge units and 62 beach suites. The bathrooms are spa-inspired, the kitchens are cutting edge, and the rooms even feature a washer and dryer for deluxe convenience. There is a Drift Spa where guests can replenish with Sea Flora and marine mineral treatments to enjoy before heading out to the ocean-view hot pools.
