Weitzman Decides Economic Times Are Inappropriate for Million Dollar Shoes

It seems the recession has even affected Stuart Weitzman. You know things are bad when the uber-popular shoe designer decides to opt out of making extravagant shoes for the second year in a row. Taking out his million dollar signature studs out of his usual tradition since 2002, where he had become known for bejewel-ing Oscar red carpet walkers. Weitzman has said that the shoe isn’t appropriate for the economic climate. The last time Weitzman created the shoes, they were the diamond flower T-straps designed for Diablo Cody to wear at the 2008 ceremony. But Cody, who later won the Oscar, didn’t wear the shoes and instead wore more modest gold flats. How could she!? We blame Cody for Weitzman’s lack of fashion enthusiasm.
