BCBG Mastermind Max Azria Sells Beverly Hills Home

The mastermind behind the infamous and beautiful BCBGMAXAZRIA fashion heaven is selling his Beverly Hills, California home for $6,899,000. But unlike many of the newsmakers these days, Azria isn’t selling due to financial woes; he’s selling to move into his comfortably larger mansion which he and his wife have been overhauling for the past few years. That’s right, he’s upgrading. Recession what?

The home the Azria and his wife are selling is an elegant 6,138-square-foot colonial home which features five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a gorgeous kitchen with center island, a huge master suite with private terrace and fireplace, three guest bedrooms with private bathrooms, a three car garage, a pool, spa, and additional outdoor patio and terrace areas.

While Azria is most famously known for his BCBGMAXAZIRA fashion company, he is also responsible for the seductive Hervé Léger label and recently joined forces with singer/actress Miley Cyrus to create a fashion line for younger girls which will be sold at Wal-Mart.

It’s believed that Azria and his wife bought the Beverly Hills home way back in 1970 for a mere $125,000 (keep in mind that probably was an impressive sum at the time). One of the main selling points of the property is its incredible privacy; tall hedges in the backyard shield the home from the nearby neighbors and the entire property is gated and otherwise walled in.

While the couple owns numerous properties around the area, they are believed to be selling this specific property in order to move into their 2.83 acre Sunset Boulevard home which they have been renovating since buying it in 2005 for $16 million. The new home features 12 bedrooms and 13 bathrooms and is approximately 18,806 square feet. The couple’s new neighbors include the divorcing McCourt’s, Connie Stevens, and even the legendary Hugh Hefner.
