Alicia Keys Necklaces Designed to Save Lives

Haute Living recently reported that the beautiful R&B singer Alicia Keys was planning to launch a jewelry line with designer Gisèle Theriault, and now we have some more insight into what music and jewelry lovers can expect from the upcoming line. Alicia Keys is not only a music icon, but she is also heavily involved in charity work for the Keep A Child Alive organization. Demonstrating her dedication, Keys is devoting the core pieces of her new jewelry line, The Barber’s Daughters, to the cause.
The singer’s collection will be displaced at a pop-up shop at the Collette Blanchard Gallery in New York City on November 23 and 24. The entire collection will feature inspirational pieces made of precious metals that are each inscribed with poetry, prayers, and other words.

The core piece, which Keys is dedicating to Keep A Child Alive is a sterling silver double tablet necklace on an oxidized rope chain. The piece will be inscribed with the Gandhi quote, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” The necklace will sell for $295 and Keep A Child Alive will receive $100 from each purchase.

Keep A Child Alive is an organization dedicated to providing life-saving anti-retroviral treatment, care, and support services to children and families where lives have been affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India by directly engaging the global public in the fight against AIDS. Keys is the co-founder and global ambassador for Keep A Child Alive. Iman and Padma Lakshmi are also global ambassadors who bring their star power for the greater good.
