Don’t Miss These Events at Chez Melange

It is shaping up to be quite the season for everything artistic this fall. And Chez Melange is leading Los Angeles, perfectly blending the culinary arts with the creative world of photography.

The first scheduled event that is a must on every art lover’s calendar is a Thursday evening reception at the L.A. eatery. On October 29, Chez Melange will host gourmands and art aficionados to showcase the work of renowned photographer Mark Robert Halper. “Early Harvest” represents Halper’s first group of images from his upcoming book project, Sunlight and Water: Portraits of Santa Barbara County Winemakers. Widely popular for his portrait photography of greats like Wolfgang Puck, Sumner Redstone, Frank Gehry, and Ben Stein, this exhibition will feature shots of 19 different Santa Barbara winemakers.

Following up the evening of food meets photography, Chez Melange will then host a Tuesday night affair on November 10, with a delectable dinner featuring winegrower and farmer Brian Talley of Talley Vineyards and Talley Farms. The five-course dinner will include taste bud ticklers like clams with butter beans and brussels sprouts; pork belly with a honey miso glaze and Japanese salad; and a marinated duck with tamale pie and green chile sauce. Featured wines will include a 2007 Bishop’s Peak Chardonnay, 2007 Talley Arroyo Grand Valley Chardonnay, 2004 Talley Rincon Vineyard Chardonnay, 2006 Talley Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot Noir, and 2005 Talley Rosemary’s Vineyard Pinot Noir.

Both events require reservations, which can be made by calling Chez Melange at 310.540.1222 or emailing melangeinc@aol.com
