The verdict is in: the Four Seasons Hotel and Resort is this year’s top-rated luxury hotel according to J.D. Power and Associates’ 2009 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study. The report collected data from 66,000 guests who stayed at various hotels in the luxury accommodations category from June 2008 to June 2009. The InterContinental, JW Marriott, Loews, W, and last year’s winner, the Ritz-Carlton all received above average marks, but not enough to catapult them above the renowned Four Seasons brand. Some factors that drove the luxury resort into this year’s top spot include the chain’s “green” initiatives, as well as their conservation program. In a press release announcing the results, Michael Drago, director of the global hospitality and travel practice at J.D. Power and Associates said, “These hoteliers know that providing extraordinary guest service in a consistent manner, in both good times and bad, is a recipe for continued success.”
