Famed London haute spot, the Lanesborough St. Regis Hotel, has acquired two new rare and highly coveted possessions that have secured its position as one of the most posh hotels in the world. The first is a walk-in humidor, the first of its kind in a London hotel, that has the capacity to house 1,000 cigars and contains 25 private lockers for guest’s personal collection. The second addition is to the hotels exclusive “library” that houses a collection of rare and ancient spirits. The 240-year old bottle of cognac, distilled in the great year of 1770 in which Beethoven was born and Marie Antoinette married Louis XVI. Guests who desire to sip on this liquid history can do so for $6,000 per shot. Renowned master of the bar, Guiseppe Ruo, will pair a fine cigar with any cognac of your choice. As if these two new additions weren’t enough to lure in the most discerning ladies and gentleman, Lanesborough is home to London’s priciest hotel room, the Royal Suite which goes for around $12,000 per night, depending on the season.
