Ferrari Celebration

By Sean Ballent
To celebrate its victory at the 16th Formula One Constructor’s World Championship, Ferrari combined the best of the F430 Scuderia and the F430 Spider to create the Limited Scuderia Spider 16M. This amazing open-top machine shares the same 510hp 4.3L V 8 engine and six-speed F1 gearbox as its coupe counterpart but weighs 176 lbs lighter, making it the faster than any other Prancing Horse open-top road car ever built. The convertible is capable of propelling itself 0-62 mph is 3.7 seconds and reaches a limited top speed of 195.7 mph.
The Scuderia Spider can be purchased in the basic black-and-grey trim or upgraded to a tri-color livery option under the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalization Program. Other amenities included in the limited edition series are a carbon-fiber clad roll-bar, a silver plague on the dashboard and rear grille, and a central docking station for a 16GB Ferraro iPod Touch on the dash. Only 499 of these convertibles will be manufactured at a price that’s expected to be over the F430 coupe’s $277,000 tag.
