John Varvatos is teaming up with Swiss watchmaker Ernst Benz to create Ernst Benz by John Varvatos limited edition watches, just in time for the Holidays. We don’t know if you’ve noticed, but it seems Varvatos is quite at large, especially in NYC. The collaboration was sparked from the designer’s 2007 collection in which he used Ernst Benz timepieces to accessorize his models on the catwalk. “My fascination with watches has only grown with time, and I have always wanted to design my own timepiece,” said Varvatos. “Working with Leonid (of Ernst Benz) on this process has been an unparalleled experience. The result is a watch that is the ultimate accessory for me, and a perfect complement for people who buy my collections.”
The watches will be available in either vintage black or vintage anthracite. More variations will be developed as the partnership grows (two additional models are already in the works to be released with the launch of Varvatos’ Fall 2009 collection) and only 250 of each design type of the classic timepieces will be made.
