Dining with the Stars of Michelin

The Michelin Guide has been providing outstanding dining recommendations in Europe for over a century, and made its debut in the Bay area in 2006. The rating system uses stars, which are coveted by chefs worldwide. It is an honor to receive just one, and there are only six Michelin two-star restaurants in Northern California. In celebration of the 2009 Michelin Guide awards, three of these restaurants have joined efforts to extend a celebratory invitation to epicureans. For three nights and three meals, the personalized getaways combine romantic overnight stays with seasonal tasting menus at award-winning MICHAEL MINA, Cyrus, and The Restaurant at Meadowood. Chefs Michael Mina, Douglas Keane, and Christoper Kostow are excited to collaborate on this exciting opportunity. “We have a tremendous amount of professional respect for one another,” said Kostow.Guests can begin their journey either in San Francisco and then move north to the wine country, or vice versa. In the city, dinner at MICAEL MINA is accompanied by a stay at the luxurious Westin St. Francis at Union Square. In Sonoma County, visitors dine at Cyrus and then cross the historic plaza to an intimate room with a fireplace at the Heraldsburg Inn on the Plaza. At the Meadowood Napa Valley estate, dinner at the Restaurant at Meadowood is followed by a romantic stroll through the wooded estate to awaiting cottages. The package also includes special in-room amenities and restaurant extras available only to Dining with the Stars guests, as well as preferred seating times between 7 and 8 p.m.

The Dining with the Stars epicurean travel offering is available Monday-Thursday, January 15, 2009 through April 15, 2009. Reservations can be made by calling Meadowood Napa Valley at (707) 963-3646 or contacting reservations@meadowood.com.  Price starts at $1,900 per couple and does not include transportation or parking.
