Celeb Chef Tyler Florence To Open San Francisco Restaurant

It is somewhat hard to believe, but TV Food Network star chef Tyler Florence has never opened a restaurant before.
But that situation was … well … a flash in the pan.
Florence, 36, the star of a variety of TV Food Network shows, has most recently been linked to national restaurant chain Applebee’s, where he infused the basic, contemporary menu with several gourmet accents, but now comes the real challenge. A resident of Mill Valley, California, which is just north of San Francisco, Florence will luckily not need to travel far for his newest venture.
The as-yet-to-be-named restaurant will be the crown jewel to the renovated Hotel Vertigo. Currently the York Hotel, the 97-room hotel is in the middle of a $5 million renovation, and its new name is taken from the 1958 Alfred Hitchcock thriller.
The restaurant likely will open this summer, when the hotel is officially renamed.
