“Day of Beauty” sounds like such a great way for busy ladies to take time and pamper themselves. How did it come to be? Do you host such spa days often?
Our Day of Beauty has been in place since the opening of our Miami practice. This event gives us the opportunity to honor our patients with special promotions and giveaways to express our gratitude to them for being so loyal. The event itself takes place several times a year and we try to select dates in line with special holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and before the Holidays as we know our patients want to look and feel their best during this time.
The Day of Beauty is less than a week before Valentine’s Day. What will be best procedures for ladies if they want to get ready for Valentine’s?
The date was chosen specifically with Valentine’s Day in mind. Since it does take a few days for treatments such as Botox and Filler injections to settle in and for light bruising to subside, we wanted to make sure that our patients had ample time before the celebrations began. Typically, it is recommended to have microdermabrasion or a deep cleaning facial prior to a Botox or Filler injections to ensure that the skin is free from any congestion. I’ve found that by combining the microdermabrasion and Botox/Filler treatments, patients immediately look and feel more refreshed.
What is Microdermabrasion and how does it improve the skin?
Microdermabrasion is non-invasive procedure that utilizes tiny crystals to exfoliate the top layer of skin. By removing this layer of dead & dry skin cells, the skin begins to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin resulting in a more youthful and glowing appearance.
One of the promotions customers can get is on a combo Botox and Filler treatment. What is it most often used for and what are the advantages of combining botox and fillers?
Each treatment is intended for different purposes. Botox® is most often used to treat fine lines and wrinkles of the forehead and around the eyes (known as crow’s feet). By blocking nerve impulses that cause facial muscles to contract and eventually relax, the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and disappear following the treatment.
Whereas, fillers are used to smooth out deeper wrinkles and folds. On many occasions, I also use fillers to augment the cheeks and lips by filling in areas that have lost volume due to aging or extreme weight loss. This technique results in a more youthful and symmetrical appearance.
