The Miami Design District has had no shortage of exciting additions throughout the past year. From the inception of Jungle Plaza, Paradise Plaza, St. Roch Food Hall and dozens upon dozens of new cultural programming features like the Farmers Market #atMDD and the Palm Court Performance Series, the posh shopping mecca has become one of the most popular and culturally-rich destinations of Miami. Therefore, it’s no surprise that they have something new coming our way at the end of this month—this time, in the form of a Museum Garage, serving the dual purpose as an art display and a mixed-use retail and parking structure.

The exciting Museum Garage is set to debut at the end of April, and will display the work of five world-class architects. The final product will be a seven-story, mixed-use structure that will house ground-level retail spaces, as well as provide additional parking for the neighborhood with a capacity for 800 vehicles.

The innovative concept is the brainchild of Miami Design District developer Craig Robins, along with L Catterton Real Estate-commissioned architect Terence Riley. They developed the concept and brought together innovators from around the world including WORKac, J. Mayer H., Clavel Arquitectos, Nicolas Buffe and Riley’s own architectural firm K/R (Keenen/Riley) to each create their own unique façade on the structure.

The concept is like nothing you’ll ever see before, and will certainly attract visitors to the new shopping and dining destinations on the ground level, as well as those who want to come admire and photograph the museum display of five different artistic façades. Museum Garage is poised to become the latest addition to the roster of art visitors can enjoy in the Miami Design District. The rates for the parking will keep in line with the standard neighborhood prices which start at $3.00 for every 4 hours.
