New York;s most glittering glitterati stayed up very late on Friday night, to toast Jason Wu, the fashion designer and artist, at the start of New York Fashion Week The reason for the celebration, a midnight supper held at the St. Regis New York, was to toast Wu’s 10th anniversary as a designer. The location has special meaning for Wu, as it is where he held his breakout show eight years ago.
Celebrating with Wu were Emily Ratajkowski, Diane Kruger, Amber Valletta, Constance Jablonski, Sofía Sanchez de Betak, Fabien Baron,Ludivine Poiblanc, Teddy Charles, Linda Fargo and Bjorn Wallander, Roopal Patel, Elizabeth and Andreas von der Goltz, Cristina Ehrlich, Lisa Holladay, Global Brand Leader St. Regis Hotels and Resorts, and Senih Geray, General Manager of The St. Regis New York.
The swishy black-tie event was held in a chandeliered salon on the hotel’s second floor, a few hours after Wu concluded his Fall 2017 runway show. The room, designed by Rebecca Gardner, was anchored by a single long table decorated with a dramatic vine installation and studded with Saint-Louis crystal glassware and silver accents. White-gloved servers escorted guests to their seats before presenting plates of caviar, lobster, truffles and filet. The vintage elegance of the hotel played off the jungle-inspired décor, providing a fresh contrast of design styles that spoke to Wu’s design aesthetic and home at the St. Regis
