Inside the lavish opening of the SLS Brickell.

The dynamic duo of sbe and Related Group threw a lavish grand opening celebration for the team’s newest Miami project, SLS Brickell. The invite-only event drew in Miami’s elite and boldface names like tennis star Venus Williams, Emilio Estefan and Barbara Hulanicki, all eager to check out the highly-anticipated celebration, which featured a special surprise performance by musical sensation, Boy George.

The power team’s leading names took the stage to introduce the stunning 55-story project, including Related Group Founder and Chairman Jorge Pérez and sbe Founder Sam Nazarian, along with designer Philippe Starck, Arquitectonica’s Bernardo Fort-Brescia and famed chefs Michael Schwartz and José Andrés, whose restaurants are on site.
The night featured savory bites from Michael Schwartz’s Fi’lia and José Andrés’ Bazaar, as well as inventive cocktails by 1893 Pepsi-Cola mixologists, which were shaken and delivered by flying drones. As if that wasn’t enough, guests also enjoyed sips of champagne poured from acrobats hanging from the hotel’s signature chandeliers throughout the pool area, as well as further entertainment from aerialists and theatrical installations throughout the night.

Of course, the most-talked-about event of the season was made complete as soon as the iconic singer and songwriter Boy George took the stage, immediately captivating the audience with some of his favorite hits, delivering a perfect end to a memorable night.
