The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas recently welcomed the New York hot spot, Beauty & Essex, by celebrity chef Chris Santos, to its superb restaurant collection. The restaurant replaced the French bistro Comme Ça, on the third floor of the hotel with a beautiful view of the Las Vegas strip.
Beauty & Essex was brought to Las Vegas by Tao Group, which already runs Marquee Nightclub and Dayclub at Cosmopolitan, along with other restaurants and nightclubs across the strip. The original location is currently one of the most popular dining destinations in New York City’s Lower East Side and the Cosmopolitan was lucky enough to snag the second location.
Designed by the Rockwell Group, the 10,000-square-foot space takes diners through a pawnshop inspired entrance, where vintage pearls, jewels and even guitars may be purchased. The entrance then transitions into an opulent Pearl Lounge, named for the custom built chandelier that drapes across the ceiling, and is made of thousands of beautiful pearls. It gets even better as guests pass through the Mirror Bar with a gold DJ booth that leads into three custom metallic and jewel-toned dining rooms. The Pearl Lounge and bar area seats 90 and the main restaurant seats more than 230.
Santos, a celebrity chef judge on the Food Network’s Chopped, will focus the restaurant on multi-ethnic shared plates. The restaurant will be serving some of his New York dishes along with new signature items exclusive to Las Vegas. The Las Vegas menu includes short rib ‘mac & cheese’, spring pea agnolotti and nicoise style tuna au poivre along with share plates including New York City favorites tuna poke wonton tacos, thai style crispy shrimp and a delicious tomato tartare.
Of course, it’s Vegas; so Monday nights this dining destination transforms into a luxurious supperclub with delicious cocktails, voyeur models and top local DJs for #BeautyMondays. The DJ will keep the night going long after dinner has ended. It’s the perfect place to wine, dine and socialize before heading upstairs to Tao Groups’ famous Marquee Nightclub.
