Louis Vuitton Presents An America’s Cup-Inspired Collection

Louis Vuitton has created an America’s Cup-themed menswear collection in honor of the 35th edition of the Louis Vuitton America’ Cup.

The new Louis Vuitton America’s Cup collection celebrates leisure and lifestyle. It’s a collection that, of course, draws inspiration from sailing itself; the boats, the race and the water. It makes use of sporty, technical elements, without becoming performance wear, and respects the values of the history and legacy of luxury at Louis Vuitton.

This capsule is a luxurious interpretation of a sportswear collection, based on three key silhouettes. It is suitable for different events and locations, inspired by the possible activities surrounding the events of the 35th America’s Cup.

The colors are dynamic and impactful, but easy to understand. The base of the collection consists of neutral navies and blacks and a powerful white and is highlighted by the Gaston Vuitton’s red and blue.

All three silhouettes are connected through their strong graphics, in ready-to-wear, bags, small leather goods, shoes and accessories. The graphic elements are what create the playful visual language of the America’s Cup capsule and a strong sense of collectable items.

Steam Bag Regatta
This version of the Steamer Bag in Monogram Macassar Regatta canvas with its modern interpretation of the V Gaston, celebrates the House’s partnership role in the 35th America’s Cup.

The America’s Cup collection offers a complete range of lifestyle products, aligned in their easy to understand silhouettes, colors and graphics. The most expensive piece in the collection, at $6,050, is the chic Steamer Bag Regatta.

It is a great alternative to what the victor of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup race will receive: a trunk made to measure by the brand that is a strongbox and a jewel rolled into one. The trunk, which took three master craftsmen 400 hours to complete, is a one-of-a-kind item that combines Monogram canvas, a sky blue microfiber lining and 1,200 metal pieces.  A separate case placed at the bottom of the trunk transports the seven medals awarded at the end of the competition.
