MIA: Michael Schwartz’s Third Restaurant Slated For Park Grove

Park Grove 1

We know, we know. Park Grove isn’t going to be opening for quite some time, but we just couldn’t wait to bring you the good news… Michael Schwartz is going to be opening a restaurant in the soaring new Rem Koolhaas/OMA building. The eatery by the James Beard award-winner will be a casual, neighborhood sort of spot that aims to bring some of the high-quality grub he’s know for to Coconut Grove.

The restaurant will be a sprawling 3,500-feet and designed by the New York-based boutique design firm Meyer Davis, locally known for their work on the 1 Hotel. The overall look and feel of the restaurant will take advantage of both the Grove and the building’s greenspace, incorporating it into the restaurant’s design.

Dining services will extend beyond the restaurant to catering, pool and bar service as well as catering and boxed lunches for boat owners with vessels docked at the nearby Grove marina. There will also be an additional 1,000-square room for private events, of which we’re sure there will be many.

“It’s a really exciting time for Coconut Grove, and we feel lucky to be a part of what’s happening and look to the future with Park Grove,” said Schwartz. “With everything coming up so fast around us, the stakes are super high to make sure to deliver a place our neighbors new and old can grow with, frequent and make their own. The vision for the restaurant is to create something similar to the Cypress Room but opening into a lush cozy courtyard that will become Coconut Grove’s own secret garden ”

The deal is the chef’s third venture with Related Group, who joined forces with Terra Group for this three-tower project. Other eateries slated to open in the future with Related include Michael’s at SLS Hotel & Residences in Brickell (opening summer 2016) and Paraiso Bay Restaurant & Beach Club in Edgewater (opening 2017). Park Grove, along with Bjarke Ingels’ Grove at Grand Bay, are poised to bring high design and a new, moneyed crowd along with it to the former artist colony. Carlos Rosso, President of the Condominium Division at The Related Group said, “We are thrilled to continue our amazing relationship with Michael to bring incredible dining and lifestyle experiences to complement the superb amenities at Park Grove.”

For those that want a preview they will be able to check out a pop-up restaurant preview at Regatta Park. The only catch? Exclusive access is for future residents.
