Mariah Carey received a massive honor yesterday worthy of her star-power when she received a star on the celebrated Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“Really, you’re melting my heart,” the 45-year-old songbird told her fans at the ceremony. “You’re making me cry, and that’s why I’m keeping on my sunglasses. But I cannot thank you enough. This is a huge honor.”

Carey’s star is the 2,556th to adorn the sidewalk, and has been in the planning stages since 2007. She is one of the most successful artists of all time with 18 No. 1 hits. She has sold more than 200 million albums and won five Grammys.

She was joined at the ceremony by 4-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe (their father is ex-husband Nick Cannon), directors Lee Daniels (who directed her in Precious) and Brett Ratner as well music producer and record executive L.A. Reid.

Afterward, the pop diva celebrated in true grand fashion with an intimate luncheon at newly renovated hotspot Beacher’s Madhouse at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

She received a standing ovation upon entering the venue and was handed a dozen pink roses. Guests toasted her with glasses of Dom Pérignon while her greatest hits played from the speakers.

Beacher, who was doing some celebrating of his own (Mariah’s luncheon heralded the reopening of his venue, which has been shut for two years), said, “After a two year hiatus, I could not think of a better way to return to Hollywood than to celebrate with my dear friend and music icon Mariah Carey in honor of her Hollywood Walk of Fame Star. When we opened at the MGM in Las Vegas on New Year’s 2014, Miley Cyrus hosted a magical opening celebrating with pals Selena Gomez and Katy Perry paving the road for a sold out success. I couldn’t be more thrilled to kick –off the LA theater with a luncheon to celebrate my good friend Mariah Carey’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and her worldwide success in the music industry including 18 number 1 hits and countless collection of Grammys, AMA’s and Billboards Awards.”
