Inside Natalia Vodianova’s Charity Dinner at London Coliseum

Russian supermodel and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova hosted a star-studded dinner at London’s Coliseum in the city’s decadent Covent Garden area in aid of her Naked Heart Foundation children’s charity over the weekend. Along with Diana Vishneva, principal dancer of the Mariinsky and American Ballet Theatre, Vodianova presented a cultural evening where guests could mingle and soak up some performances, all in aid of some good causes. This isn’t the first time the model has used London as the backdrop to her charitable activities—back in February, Vodianova organised a fundraiser in the style of a grown-up funfair at The Roundhouse in the capital’s Camden area.

Celebrity guests in attendance included the likes of Charlotte Tilbury and husband George Waud, Melissa Hemsley, Martha Ward, Lily Donaldson, Nicky Haslam, magician Dynamo, Pixie Lott and Oliver Cheshire, all of whom were treated to a lavish dinner on the Coliseum’s very stage, while marvelling at performances by violinist Maxim Vengerov and dancer Marcelino Sambe. Attendees also had the chance to witness the world premiere of “Zeitgeist” by The Royal Ballet’s principal dancers Natalia Osipova and Edward Watson.

The evening drew to a close with a highly-anticipated auction, presided over by Sotheby’s Lord Dalmeny. The 11 lots contained, among others, original black-and-white prints of dancer Vishneva by Patrick Demarchelier, as well as a personalized Louis Vuitton case containing her ballet shoes, an original Annie Leibovitz print of Vodianova, a Valentino couture dress and a seat on the stage for a private dance by Vishneva. The money raised at the end of the beautiful London evening totalled an impressive £435,000 and will go towards The Naked Heart Foundation, as well as Vishneva’s own charity, which supports young and emerging dancers.
