Take a Tour of Jessica Chastain’s Luxury NYC Apartment
'A Most Violent Year' star Jessica Chastain bought an NYC apartment with decades of film and musical theater history.

In this new age of Hollywood, no actress defines the term “leading lady” quite like Jessica Chastain. The actress has taken tinsel town by storm with roles in films like Inception, Zero Dark Thirty and most recently, A Most Violent Year, so It’s only fitting that the actress would settle on an NYC abode that’s steeped in film and theater history. The actress recently snatched up a dreamy $5.1 million place at the famous Osborne Apartments on West 57th Street with boyfriend Gina Luca Passi de Preposulo.

The four-bedroom, 3 ½-bath residence was once owned by legendary composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein, and it is said that that the composer wrote the songs in “West Side Story” with Stephen Sondheim while living there in the ’50s. The hallways of the Osborne apartment building are also said to have served as the inspiration for the setting of Roman Polanski’s Rosemary’s Baby.

The apartment features tiger-oak floors, stained-glass parlor windows and hand-carved mahogany doors. It also has 14-foot ceilings, five ornate fireplaces and an original Lalique glass pane on the library door.

Jessica Chastain joins a number of prolific NYC artists that have called the Osborne home over the years, including pianist Van Cliburn, actresses Lynn Redgrave and Sylvia Miles, photographer Peter Beard and novelist Ira Levin
