Michael Kors’ Miami Musts for a Glamorous Holiday
Michael Kors is the consummate globetrotter as his blog “Destination Kors” can attest. His casual-yet-glam collections are a hit with almost every type of consumer and red carpet walkers alike. Michael Kors is so hot that Haute Living asked him about one hottest of towns; Miami. Here what Kors thinks every woman should bring while on a Miami holiday, as well as some of his favorite hotspots in town.
Haute Living: What do you think is the most important wardrobe item to pack when in Miami?
Michael Kors: Sunglasses: Aviator, cat-eye, oversized… whatever works for you!
HL: What pieces do you recommend for a jetsetter to wear in Miami?
MK: If you’re heading to Miami, you’re going to need a chic swimsuit or three. I always think a one-piece is subtly sexy. Glamorous flats for the beach, sexy heels for dinner and a few caftans that are above and beyond. A watch with a leather band is sporty and glamorous which is a combo I’ve always loved.
HL: What is on your to-do list when in Miami? What are the must sees?
MK: Vintage shopping at C. Madeleine’s, people watching at Lincoln Road never disappoints. I also love strolling through the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
HL: Where is your favorite hotel? Restaurant?
MK: I like the St. Regis Bal Harbour the service is on par with a luxury resort, and yet it’s only a few minutes away from the nightlife of South Beach. I don’t know that I could pick just one restaurant. I love the truffle-laden pizza and pasta at Cecconi’s, the stone crab claws at Joe’s Stone Crab, and everything at Michael’s Genuine.
HL: What piece of luggage do you recommend for our Haute jetsetter?
MK: I always think you should travel with luggage that is functional yet fashionable, and it’s very important to hold all the things you can’t live without.
