Miami City Ballet Teases Gala and Performance with Street-Chic Video by Justin Peck

Miami City Ballet Director Lordes Lopez has injected new life into MCB. Evidenced by this year’s performance for Program IV, which includes a piece of art by Shepard Fairey. Ahead of that performance, called Heatscape, an amazing video by Justin Peck of the MCB dancers has been released ahead of a movie about the dance world superstar to be released in theaters on February 6th.

The video is also getting everyone revved up for the Miami City Ballet Gala on January 31st. The event will be chaired by Ana and Robert Barlick, and take place at Soho Studios in Wynwood.  The lux event will feature a fusion of art, dance and music, promising to top last year’s dream-like event (see it here).

The night will begin with a Champagne welcome by Christofle of Paris, and all 50 dancers from the company will join the gala as guests, giving attendees a chance to interact with their favorite dancers. There will also be a one-night only, unique video art installation combining classical ballet with the street art and even a chandelier created from ballet slippers will frame the cocktail hour, presented by Bacardi.

Tables are for patrons as serious about their philanthropy as their ballet and go from $25,000 to $100,000, with single tickets costing $2,500. However, you better act fast as there is only one table left!
