Haute Secrets: Ace of Cakes Star Duff Goldman

This week we’ve featured the haute secrets of Duff Goldman, the star of Ace of Cakes and the owner of Charm City Cakes and Duff’s Cakemix. Duff’s Cakemix is the first interactive design bakery where the customer is the artist and the chef has requested that you play with your food.  After customers select their desired cake size, or if they prefer, cupcakes to decorate, they pick their flavor and filling.

Each customer has the opportunity to assemble their own cake decorating “kit,” including a choice of frosting type  – buttercream or fondant – frosting, scoops of toppings from the goodie-bar, and air brushing. Duff’s Cakemix customers can also roll out extra colored fondant to make their own decoration elements like flowers, shapes, animals, and more with the guidance Duff’s talented team. Located on Melrose Avenue next door to Goldman’s custom bakery, Charm City Cakes West, Cakemix also includes a café where customers can enjoy an espresso, cappuccino, all made with Duff’s signature Intelligentsia Roast Coffee. The bakery offers an array of freshly baked sweets, including Dinkies (Duff’s version of Twinkies), Cake in a Jar, Message Cupcakes and gluten-free and vegan options.
