Haute 100 LA Update: Meryl Streep to Receive Honorary Degree from Indiana University

Meryl Streep has received countless accolades for her acting skills, and now, she’s also about to get feted for her intelligence.

The Oscar winner will receive an honorary doctoral degree from Indiana University this year.

On April 16, University President Michael A. McRobbie will present the feted thespian with the degree during her visit to the college for its Jorgensen Guest Filmmaker Lecture series.

The school has opted to recognize the actress for her talent, her mark on the arts community and her role as an influential advocate for women.

After accepting the honor, Streep is expected to introduce her 2006 film, A Prairie Home Companion.
