Haute Event: Naughty By Nature Puts on a Show at LAX
Hip-hop trio Naughty by Nature performed in front of a massive crowd at LAX Nightclub at the Luxor on Saturday night. Arriving just after 1 a.m., MCs Treach, Vinnie and DJ Kay Gee joined by their entourage, took their spot at their VIP booth on the main stage. Upon arrival, the East Coast threesome immediately became center of attention as they settled into their private table and shook hands with their admirers at the dance floor level.
Just after 1:30 a.m. the lights in the nightclub focused center stage on the group sporting Naughty by Nature gear and blinged out ensembles. The performance kicked off with their most well-known and highly successful rap crossover songs “O.P.P.” The packed nightspot soared with excitement as the group worked all angles of the stage. While in the moment, MC Vinnie pulled out a sling of “You Down ‘Wit’ O.P.P ” stickers, which he tossed into the crowd during the chorus of their most respected anthem. MC Treach suddenly stopped the music and addressed the audience, “We want to thank you all for coming out tonight and celebrating more than 22 years of hip-hop with us,” pausing for moment he continued by asking the crowd if they were ready to party, inviting them to wave their hands in the air as he and MC Vinnie segued into the trio’s chart-topper “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright.”
The entire nightclub continued to sing along to the platinum-selling artists’ classic favorites such as “Uptown Anthem” and “Feel Me Flow.” Halfway through their set, the New Jersey natives showed some love to both their East and West Coast followers by paying tribute to past hip-hop icons including Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. Bringing the performance to an end, DJ Kay Gee brought the beat in on the group’s last song “Hip Hop Hooray” and had the entire dance floor on their feet. As the track cut out, the crowd finished the song and MC Treach had one last thing to say to guest, “We love you, Las Vegas, and enjoy the rest of your night.”
The group spent the rest of their evening sipping on cocktails and meeting with adoring fans. Naughty by Nature put on one of the most high-energy performances LAX Nightclub has hosted this year.
