Haute Preview: Dizzy Feet Celebrates its Second Annual Celebration of Dance Gala Saturday — Without Host Katie Holmes

The Dizzy Feet Foundation will still honor Shirley MacLaine and  Henry T. Segerstrom at its second annual gala on Saturday evening, but the foundation will be without expected host Katie Holmes.

The Dizzy Feet board member was expected to make her first public appearance since splitting from Tom Cruise this weekend, but her rep has confirmed she will not be in attendance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

Fellow board members Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman are still expected to be on hand as 89-year-old Orange County philanthropist Segerstrom receives a DFF Impact Award for his support of the arts. The Haute 100 member is a major patron of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which features a world-class dance program.

Meanwhile, MacLaine will be honored with a DFF Inspiration Award, while music and dance director Damian Woetzel will receive the foundation’s inaugural Gene Kelly Legacy Award.

Performers at the Celebration of Dance gala this Saturday will include Maria Menounos, Derek Hough, Ryan Guzman, Misha Gabriel, tWitch and Kathryn McCormack. Presenters at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will include actress and model Carmen Electra, “Glee” stars Chord Overstreet and Harry Shum, Jr., and TV host Ricki Lake.

The Dizzy Feet Foundation helps young people realize their dream of becoming professional dancers by supporting, improving and increasing access to dance education in the U.S. The nonprofit also sponsors community-based dance programs in underserved communities.
