Get ready Miami! It is finally our time to enjoy our major fashion event of the year. New York has just recently wrapped up fashion week, with shows, parties, and events all over the city. Now it's Miami's turn. We may just have a little edge over them though...That would be the gorgeous weather, the beautiful beaches, and not to mention the VIP parties at LIV and the Gansevoort! According to miamifashionweek.com, the 13th annual Miami International Fashion Week will take place Thursday March 3 through Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The convention center will be transformed into a state-of-the art "Fashion City." It will be set up to showcase all fashion shows, exhibitions, and sponsor lounges. This yearly, major event captures the city's socialites, key players, and the who's who in Miami. People from all over the world flock to this event.

The sun, 90 degree temperature, sun tans, bikinis, beautiful people, and of course, the beach are all the elements we think about when we envision Miami. People from all over the world flock to Miami to vacation and enjoy the weather and the lifestyle that Miami offers. When coming up with ideas for writing this article, I was doing some research on Emilio Pucci's Creative Director Mr. Peter Dundas. After following Pucci for years and discovering Mr. Dundas, it was his inspiration and designs for his new collection that inspired me and showed a huge similarity between the beauty, color, lifestyle, and weather in Miami to his new Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

We're sure you're familiar with the boutique, Alchemist? It has been on 438 Lincoln Road for more than 4 years and is categorized amongst a select few as one of the most exclusive, luxury boutiques in Miami. With most designs hailing from the Parisian catwalks around the world, such as Givenchy, Azzedine Alaia, Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Isabel Marant, and Haider Ackerman to name a few. According to owner Roma Cohen, "Alchemist prides itself on customer service, exclusivity, and a one-on-one intimate experience." And now, with the boutique's success and loyal customer following, Alchemist has been able to expand and create another state-of-the art boutique, what I consider the rock-n-roll of Alchemist, located on the fifth level of the parking garage turned shopping destination, 1111 Lincoln Road.

In Miami Beach, we always expect our usual lineup of fashion shows and fashion events such like Fashion Week of The Americas and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim. However, just recently, there has been an addition to the fashion roster. And get ready, Miami, for Miami Design District Fashion Week!
