Lisa Lanier is a prominent North Carolina personal injury attorney and the founder of Lanier Law Group, P.A., a statewide practice dedicated to representing individuals and families during life’s most difficult moments. Born in High Point, North Carolina, Lisa earned both her undergraduate and law degrees from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Lisa began her legal career practicing insurance defense at a large Triangle-area law firm. In 1995, driven by a desire to advocate for victims rather than corporations, she launched her own firm focused on personal injury, medical malpractice, and complex injury claims. Under her leadership, Lanier Law Group has grown to nine offices across North Carolina, allowing Lisa and her team to serve clients statewide with a hands-on, compassionate approach.
Known for her deep empathy and resilience, Lisa has built a firm culture rooted in long-term relationships—both with clients and internally. Many members of her team have been with the firm for over a decade, reflecting her commitment to mentorship, internal growth, and work-life balance. Her leadership philosophy emphasizes decisiveness, trust, and empowering people to do their best work without micromanagement.
Lisa is widely recognized for her community involvement and service. She currently serves on the Regional Advisory Board for BB&T Bank and the Board of Trustees for Art for Hospice, and has previously served with Equality NC, the Interactive Resource Center, and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and veterans, with her firm engaging in weekly outreach efforts across the state to help connect people with benefits and essential services.
A respected media voice, Lisa appears regularly on local television and radio discussing legal issues in the news. She holds the title of “Official Attorney” on 107.5 KZL and 92.3 Rock92, where she hosts the popular “Lawyer Up” segment—nationally syndicated and available as a podcast—offering insightful and often lighthearted legal commentary. She is also a recurring guest lecturer on Journalism Law at Wake Forest University.
Lisa’s excellence in the legal profession has been widely recognized. She has been named an Impact Leader by Triangle Business Leader and holds a Martindale-Hubbell® Distinguished Attorney rating for her high ethical standards and legal ability.
Outside of her legal practice, Lisa is a long-distance runner who has completed multiple marathons and a triathlon. She enjoys travel, snow skiing, golf, and water sports, and is an active member of the United Church of Chapel Hill. Widowed with two children, Lisa brings the same strength, compassion, and authenticity to her personal life that define her professional legacy.
