After Sydney Chase outed Tristan Thompson for their alleged fling on a podcast, the Boston Celtics player retorted by sending her a cease-and-desist. However, the 23-year-old model has now hired an attorney to defend herself against claims that she’s lying.

Host of the “No Jumper” podcast Adam John Grandmaison told Page Six last week that he received a cease-and-desist from Thompson’s attorney, Marty Singer, after Chase made “numerous false and defamatory statements” about the 30-year-old NBA player on the podcast. “You recklessly allowed Ms. Chase to make outlandish false statements about my client on the podcast without seeking to verify her claims in any way,” the letter to Grandmaison stated.

Chase also received a cease-and-desist from Singer that accused her of dishonesty. “Your claim that you had a relationship with Mr. Thompson is pure fiction. The purported texts you claim exist are equally fictitious, and they put words in my client’s mouth that he never said that are contrary to his thoughts and feelings. This is defamatory,” the missive read.

For reference, the scandal began last month after Chase revealed that she shared a months-long sexual relationship with Thompson while he was back with on-again-off-again girlfriend Khloé Kardashian. On the podcast, the model claimed to own texts proving the affair and made unusual comments about Thompson’s manhood.

To fight the claims branding her a “liar,” Chase hired high-profile attorney Gloria Allred. “Our client, Sydney Chase, is outraged at what she regards as false statements that have been made about her in the media by Tristan Thompson’s representatives,” Allred told Page Six in a statement.

The legal expert of Allred, Maroko & Goldberg intends to conduct a full investigation on the relationship and is willing to share evidence retained by Chase on the basis that Thompson cooperates. “If Mr. Thompson has nothing to hide, then we would expect that he will make himself available for questioning by me and that he will voluntarily provide the documents. Sydney would be willing to be present at this meeting to answer questions and provide documents,” Allred’s statement read. “Khloé Kardashian is welcome to attend. We believe that the truth will emerge through this process.”

Online, Chase shared that she wouldn’t acquiesce to Singer’s missive. “I’m moving forward with the truth & am choosing not to comply,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “I will not be called a liar.”
