A day at the beach is one of summer\u2019s greatest pleasures, but even with diligent sunscreen use, sun, heat, salt water, wind, and chlorine can leave your skin dehydrated, inflamed, and with a weakened skin barrier.<\/p>\n

Fortunately, what you do after the beach is just as important as what you do before. A few simple recovery steps can help restore hydration, calm inflammation, and keep your skin healthy and glowing all summer long.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Start with a Gentle Cleanse<\/h3>\n

As soon as you\u2019re home, remove sunscreen, sweat, salt, and environmental buildup with a cleanser that won\u2019t strip the skin. I recommend Pavise Gentle Amino Powerwash, which effectively removes SPF while helping preserve your skin\u2019s natural moisture barrier.<\/p>\n

Resist the urge to scrub away dry or flaky skin. After sun exposure, your skin barrier is already working to repair itself, and aggressive exfoliation can worsen irritation and delay recovery.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Cool & Calm the Skin<\/h3>\n

After cleansing, mist the skin with Hyacyn Active to help refresh, soothe, and calm skin exposed to heat and the elements while helping reduce acne-causing bacteria to keep post-beach breakouts at bay. For an extra cooling effect, try storing your skincare in the refrigerator during the summer. Applying chilled products can feel incredibly refreshing while helping reduce the appearance of redness and puffiness after a long day in the sun.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget that hydration starts from within. Drinking plenty of water and replenishing electrolytes after long days in the sun also supports your skin\u2019s natural recovery process.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Restore Your Skin Barrier<\/h3>\n

Sun exposure depletes the lipids that keep your skin hydrated and resilient, making barrier repair one of the most important steps in post-beach recovery.<\/p>\n

Apply the Epicutis Lipid Recovery Mask for an intensive dose of soothing hydration. One of my favorite features of this mask is that it can be applied not only to the face, but under the eyes, neck, and d\u00e9collet\u00e9, areas that are often overlooked but receive significant sun exposure.\"\"Photo Credit: Dianne Marchevsky<\/span><\/p>\n

After removing the mask, apply Epicutis Lipid Serum to help lock in hydration, replenish essential lipids, and support a healthy, resilient skin barrier.<\/p>\n

Before bed, apply Pavise Bioadaptive Stress Repair to support your skin\u2019s overnight recovery, replenish hydration, and help minimize the visible effects of environmental stress.<\/p>\n

If your skin feels sunburned or especially irritated, avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and exfoliating treatments for 24\u201348 hours, as additional heat can further increase inflammation.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Support Your Skin Beyond the Beach<\/b><\/p>\n

Recovery doesn\u2019t end after the first evening. In the days that follow, continue supporting your skin with barrier-focused skincare, antioxidant protection, and daily sun protection.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite antioxidants is Skinbetter Alto Advanced Defense and Repair Serum, which helps neutralize free radicals generated by UV exposure while supporting healthier-looking skin.<\/p>\n

Equally important is wearing a broad-spectrum mineral sunscreen every day\u2014even after your beach vacation is over. Mineral sunscreens provide immediate UV protection and are an excellent option following sun exposure or professional treatments. One of my favorites is TiZO Ultra Zinc SPF, which provides broad-spectrum mineral protection while being gentle enough for even sensitive or recently treated skin. Remember to reapply every two hours when spending time outdoors and after swimming or sweating.<\/p>\n

Step 5: Give Your Skin a Luxury Reset<\/b><\/p>\n

After a vacation or several beach days, scheduling a professional facial can help restore your skin more quickly.<\/p>\n

Two of my favorite post-beach treatments are the JetPeel Facial and the Glacial Gloss Facial. The JetPeel uses high-velocity jet streams to gently exfoliate, stimulate lymphatic drainage, and infuse customized hydrating serums deep into the skin without needles or downtime, leaving the skin plump, refreshed, and radiant.
