With over two decades of professional experience, Liz Lam is an expert in the pharmaceutical industry. Specializing in business administration, she founded DermaGym LLC, an anti-aging spa in Miami, in 2016. As the founder of the business, she is responsible for growing the brand and developing further business opportunities. Ms. Lam and the business have worked with several luxury hotels in Miami Beach, including Nobu Hotel and Eden Roc, where they served as its resident medical spa in 2020, hosting monthly Botox and bubble events.<\/p>\n
Here, she talks with Haute Beauty\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>all about DermaGym and where she sees the future of her field going.<\/p>\n Was there a personal and\/or professional experience that inspired you to open your practice?<\/strong><\/p>\n As\u00a0a\u00a0former Pharmaceutical Executive, I\u2019ve had the privilege to gain access to many top-tier dermatologists and doctors who specialize in cutting-edge aesthetics from a\u00a0fairly early\u00a0age and over the last twenty years. I was thirty when I first experienced Botox,\u00a0and just a few years later, I was\u00a0introduced to fillers.\u00a0I had\u00a0an astute\u00a0understanding of\u00a0the\u00a0technologies behind the brands. With trial and error,\u00a0as an end-user of these very products and services,\u00a0I can unabashedly provide my first-hand expertise about what works and what is simply\u00a0\u201cmarket hype.\u201d After big money spent, I was first in line to try everything that was new to the market. This insider insight has led my quest to bring the best services to market. Thus was birthed DermaGym Anti-Aging Spa, established in 2016.<\/p>\n What was your mission at the start of opening your practice? Has it changed?<\/strong><\/p>\n DermaGym\u2019s\u00a0mission is to bridge the gap between conventional high-end Luxury Hotel services and scientifically proven medical results. We offer the same services that are typically only found in renowned plastic surgeons\u2019 offices and at top dermatologists\u2019 offices, and rarely are they all under the same roof.<\/p>\n If you had to pick three words to describe the vibe of your practice, what would they be and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n In three words, our vibe is: Urban \u2013 Chic \u2013 Luxury.\u00a0DermaGym\u00a0is nestled in Miami\u2019s trendy Upper East Side, aka\u00a0MiMo,\u00a0right off of the famous\u00a0Biscayne Blvd at 79th.\u00a0<\/sup>Our office building, known as The Loft, offers ample free parking for guests, and we even have a private exit so that guests can leave discreetly post-procedure.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n How did you come up with the name of your practice?<\/strong><\/p>\n DermaGym - Just tell\u00a0\u2018em\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0at the gym! Like a high-end gym, we offer some of the world\u2019s most cutting-edge equipment for improving your skin\u2019s health. We wanted our brand to embody both Skincare and Wellness, and thus our mantra is #ExerciseYourConfidence. Our vibe is Hotel-inspired service, Derm-based results.<\/p>\n What are the most popular services requested?<\/strong><\/p>\n Three of our most popular treatments are Micro-needling, Body Contouring, and Facial Rejuvenation:<\/p>\n What is the future of your field?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n I foresee a future in which aesthetic services are increasingly unisex, and spas are more inclusive. We are not the typical spa that only caters to women exclusively, but rather DermaGym aims to be the pioneer in Men\u2018s aesthetics by offering equally as many options for our male clientele.<\/p>\n What are you best known for?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n We are known for our exceptionally high-quality services, whether brand or our signature DermaGym line, which can be embraced by all ages and for all budgets.
