Whether you want to believe it or not, dermal fillers will not <\/em>accomplish the same results as a facelift. Though we would love this to be the case, the facts are the facts, and you can\u2019t compare the results of a nonsurgical procedure to a surgical one. To learn more about why this is, Haute Beauty spoke with Haute Beauty expert Dr. Thomas McNemar.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

First things first,\u00a0filler<\/a> <\/strong>is most commonly used amongst women seeking volume in their midface. Though fillers can provide volume, it is not always the best way to reach your goal of a more youthful appearance. This is because fillers are short-lived, they only last nine to thirteen months.\u00a0The most efficient way to achieve facial volume is through a Fat Transfer which is most optimal when accompanied by a Facelift, Dr. McNemar's signature procedure.<\/p>\n

So, the question that lies is when is it time\u00a0to ditch the fillers and consider a facelift? The answer is when you\u00a0see that the sagging of your neck and jowl persist. The concept of a\u00a0Facelift<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0surgery includes skin resection of excess sagging skin, which will provide structure and tautness to your face. When Dr. McNemar uses his advanced surgical techniques to lift, reposition, and remove excess skin, he is able to create a youthful look.<\/p>\n

The switch from fillers to Facelifts usually occurs at the ages of 40 and 50, but sometimes sooner if you have experienced a significant amount of weight loss. If you are well into your 80s, you can still undergo a facelift procedure if you are healthy and able to withstand surgery.<\/p>\n
