I think it's safe to say that the worst part of shaving is the aftermath. Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (PFB), better known as ingrown hairs or razor bumps, are both stubborn, irritable, and unattractive, placing them at the forefront of the issue. People with type IV or VI skin or darker skin tones, in general, are more susceptible to these conditions. Unfortunately, the condition is difficult to treat, to begin with, and even worse, when looking for a solution, most laser treatments don\u2019t cater to PFB or aren\u2019t safe for darker complexions. How It Works\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Neo Elite laser isn\u2019t like any other laser treatment. In order to ensure the safety of patients with darker complexions, the treatment uses breakthrough 650-microsecond pulse technology. The laser is so quick that it pulses the skin 50 to 500 times shorter than typical treatment lasers, to effectively cure the treatment areas while avoiding overheating the epidermal melanin found in patients with skin of color. The laser also targets specific areas of melanin, focusing only on the follicles and hyperpigmentation in the surrounding lesion that needs treatment. Treatment Time\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Treatment for PFB<\/strong><\/a> using the Neo Elite Nd:YAG laser can yield results of visibly reduced ingrown hairs and razor bumps in as few as two sessions. Some patients have found their PFB to vanish with just five treatments; however, it is recommended for most patients to undergo a total of eight treatment sessions to see complete resolution.
