Keke Palmer is known for her down-to-earth personality and always keeping it real, and when it comes to being vocal about her skin, she doesn\u2019t fall short there either. The star struggled with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and cystic acne, which she shared via her Instagram in 2020. While she still hasn\u2019t figured out exactly how to combat her struggles with acne, she has developed a skin-care routine that\u2019s helped her immensely, along with a positive mindset to get her through.<\/span><\/p>\n

Palmer let Allure in on everything she\u2019s learned through her skincare journey. One thing that's helped her manage her acne is professional help. She tells <\/span>Allure<\/b><\/a>, \u201cObviously, I would say it\u2019s expensive, but one of the things that helped me the most is going to see an esthetician, just because they\u2019re constantly working on it and helping you every step of the way.\u201d Aside from an esthetician, she has a few products she swears by that help her get by <\/span>Renee Rouleau Rapid Response Detox Masque and Triple Berry Smoothing Peel<\/b><\/a>, <\/span>MDacne\u2019s cleanser<\/b><\/a>, and <\/span>Estee Lauder\u2019s Advanced Night Repair Serum<\/b><\/a>. \u201cI love doing that routine throughout my week. It just helps, I feel like, really decongest the skin,\u201d Palmer says.<\/span><\/p>\n

The actress is also big on incorporating additional wellness methods aside from her specific skincare routine. She\u2019s a fan of journaling to tend to her mental health, \u201cI love journaling. It helps me so much to get my feelings, my thoughts, and all that kind of stuff out.\u201d She also makes sure to be graceful with herself and give herself time to breathe when it comes to her busy schedule, \u201cI really try to be intentional with my schedule in terms of what I\u2019m gonna allow to happen all in one day. Sometimes all you need is a good nap.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Palmer discusses the many stressors of having a life in the spotlight, one of them being the digital sphere of our lives and how easy it is to be misunderstood online. \u201cYou tweet one thing, or say one wrong thing\u2026 it doesn\u2019t matter if you\u2019re John Doe, everybody, I think, has a little bit of fear. When you\u2019re an entertainer it\u2019s that same feeling just a little bit heightened. I try to do the best I can. Somebody is always gonna have something to say about you, so you just got to be OK with it.\u201d Keke is truly doing it all and she\u2019s getting by all with the help of a killer skincare routine and a little bit of journaling.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
